The main intent is to provide the viewer with an up close personal experience with Alaska wildlife. Alaska Up Close is a musical video produced by Greg Syverson. The footage is the highlights from the last 4 years of filming. Brown Bears, Moose and the Aurora Borealis are featured. Black Bear, Polar Bear, Muskoxen, Caribou, Dall Sheep, Swans, Geese, Denali, Prudhoe Bay, Katmai Coast, Anan Bay, Denali flight & Glacier landing, Alaska Homestead Lodge Talkeetna and Dog Mushing are included. The show plays all summer at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. – At the end of the show we placed a 6 minute aurora section. This is mix of real video and 35mm still images set to a beautiful piano music. An extra scene selection is provided on the DVD menu. It covers a couple segments that were dropped from the final show and some moose and brown bear mating activity.

Brown Bears are the main feature of Alaska Up Close. Most of the footage comes from the Katmai Coast.

Over 6 minutes of Aurora footage is featured at the end of the DVD. The footage was shot during the peak of the 23rd solar cycle. The events cover Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay.

Fall time is when the rut takes place. Bull Moose tilt their head from side to side displaying the size of their racks. They fight for the right to breed with the cows

Arctic Fox are white in the winter and brown & Black in the summer months. They stash excess food in the summer to dig up later to sustain them during the long winters.

Polar Bears are found on the edge of the sea ice. They hunt seals, walrus and beluga whales. They have long hollow hair that insulates their feet helping them to survive the harsh winters
